SALE

All items in the Clearance section are an extra 15% off through 11pm Friday,  2/3/2012. Discount has been applied. Excess shipping will be refunded. Feel free to request a custom listing with combined shipping. We need to make room for some new fabrics.

New fabrics this week are Riley Blake's Dainty Blossoms, and Scoot. Check them out!

It's going to be a busy week. The Boy's 4th birthday is Thursday, and he wants all things Batman. I have a fleece blanket to hem, and a pillowcase to make before then. Not to mention a bee block, and finish up my round robin journal. I may have to give up sleeping.  Have a great week!

Around the Bend and Across the Pond

Around the Bend and Across the Pond, originally uploaded by uberstitch.

I just finished up my center block for "The Awesome Rawsome Round Robin Group" which is part of the larger Across the Pond and around the Bend group on Flickr. It was a little time consuming, but not quite as hard as it looks. It was dome with a paper piecing technique from the book  Intuitive Color & Design, Adventures in Art Quilting, by Jean Wells.   I did have to rip and redo a few times, but overall it was a fun experience, and it has been a while since I'd done any paper piecing. And I need some practice, as I have an "ode to John Keats" block to paper/free piece for the Pastiche Bee this weekend. I'll be back to post that one, hopefully later this weekend.

Pay it forward

In the last week I signed up for 2 different "pay it forwards" One was my daughter's on facebook, and the other was my Flickr swappy friend Lynz. They each have to make me a handmade item before the end of 2012, and in return, I have to make something for the first 6 people who sign up to play. Now, if you sign up, you only have to make something for 3 people, as this is for two different PIF's. There's no particular rules about what to make, just whatever you'd like. Just as long as it's hand made. You don't even have to be able to sew. you can knit, crochet, make jewelry, cards, etc. You get the idea. What could be more fun than sending and receiving surprises?

A Belated New Year!

My plans for the New Year included a week long reorganization of the workroom/sewing space. Also to  photograph, package and list all the accumulated scraps from the shop. I had the week between Christmas and New years off from the boy, and was going to accomplish so much. Instead I succumbed to the Flu, followed by asthma issues, and accomplished nothing.

I did manage to finish off my November bee blocks for the A Notion or Two Bee. I love these! I see a quilt of these in my future.

I have also started the clean up process. Hopefully I will get it all accomplished in the next few weeks. I also have a baby quilt, a Bee block, and  a center for a Round Robin quilt to complete. Wish me luck!?
