One down, too many more to go!

I find that I'm a great starter of projects, but a lousy finisher. Some of it is clearly my fault, and some isn't. Not that there is really someone else to blame. First of all, I nanny the boy 36 hours a week. And that doesn't include nights out for his parents. (which are sleepovers, which kill an evening and a morning). On top of that I run the etsy shop, which takes 4 to 8 hours per day depending on volume of business.  And there's still housework and laundry and cooking and........, you get the picture. At least a good portion of a weekend day is spent shopping, as I can't get out during the week.  As a result, I have many unfinished projects, and little time to sew.

Three weeks ago, I decided to commit to finishing one project a week.  the pictures below are the result of week one's finish. Week two's project is finished and I hope to take pictures this weekend. It happens to be my zig zag quilt from RRBC's quilt along. I also finished a pair of PJ's for myself, and all the pants hemming for my daughter. (4"11")  This week I don't think I'll get to finish an already started project, but I hope to make my bee block for "a Rosey Little Bee" make a little something for the Easter/May Swap on ORBC, and maybe start my project for the placemat swap. Next week I'd like to quilt the "Wonky Squares" quilt we did on ORBC with Quilt Dad. Then the following week I can focus on the "Circles Quilt" we did with Heidi. I may have to put aside the "Pinwheels Quilt" for a bit so I can start on the "Hexes" with Julie. I will have to see if I can do that one in pillow size.

If only I could stop having ideas. It's kinda hard to do when I look at fabric all the time. I just keep seeing great quilts to start. Did I mention that I hate the quilting part?

Hey, is that some wavy line quilting I see?:)

You are a better and braver person than I am...I don't think I could stick to a one a week finished project....would I be able to finish a couple a week and then take a week off?:)

I feel you on seeing fabric and getting ideas all the time...I can't believe I have worked at Webfabrics for amost 2 months and only bought that 1/2 yard of Authentic I used on my apron and bag!;)....That's not going to last...new stuff coming in all the time...I'm doomed!!!

Uberstitch you sound exactly like me. I work full time my grandson lives in my house along with my 2 kids and husband, his mother works the opposite shift to save on daycare which leave little time to quilt but I still love to squeeze it in. I still have to quilt the wonky log cabin from the ORBQ along, the pinwheels are started but not finished and I started sewing strips for the hexagon quilt. I have to get my swap package mailed tomorrow so I better box it up tonight. I have started my placemat swap idea 1 but I am going to try to do another top to see what I think my partner will like better and I have started my spiderweb blocks for that swap. Am I crazy or what... I just love everything I see and I have so many ideas I want to try there is just never enough time. So don't feel alone, I need to do like you and aim to finish one project a week at least on smaller stuff. Your projects are so inspiring I love to see what you are doing, and I am sure we are not the only ones.

I have the same sort of problem, though you would think with all my spare time I'd get lots done! I just have so many ideas that I don't get around to doing them (partly cos DH has eaten up all the crafting space he promised me with his projects!).
